REPORT
ON PUPPETRY WORKSHOP
As a part of B.Ed
curriculum ,Dr.palpu memorial S.N.D.P. Yogam College of Education conducted a workshop for puppetry. Padmakumari teacher
gave the instructions for us.this workshop provide us a platform to display our
skill on puppetry making and drama presentation.The workshop was held on 25 th February
2017. All of us reached the general
hall at 9.30 am.The workshop began on time.Everyone came with necessary
materials like plastic bottle and scissors.Everyone
enthusiastically participated in the in the workshop and made it success.
Teacher explains the history of
puppetry and the significance of puppetry in a classroom.
Puppetry is a form of theatre or
performance that involves the manipulation of puppets- inanimate objects, often
resembling some type of human or animal figure , that are animated or manipulated
by a human called a puppeteer. Such a performance is also known as a puppet
play.Teacher demonstrate play.He uses movementsof his hands,arms,or control
devices such as rods or strings to move the body,head,limbs and in some cases
the mouth and eyes of puppet.Teacher often speaks in the voice of the character
of the puppet.The actions,gestures and spoken parts acted out by the puppets
are typically used in story telling.

2. Rod

3. Shadow
puppet
4. Hand
and rod puppet
5.String
puppet
6.Finger
puppet.
After the tea break ,Subin sir teach
us about ‘making of a puppet’ .We made
puppets according to his instructions.After the lunch break ,he told us to make
a script based on our option . Our option selected the topic “water scarcity”.We
made a script for the play and performed in front of the class.Like this, all
other options also performed their play,finally,Subin sir evaluated our
performance.
He also gave the instructions for
the collage making.The class was ends at 4.30 pm.
