ON WORKING MODEL WORKSHOP
As a part of B.Ed curriculum Dr.Palpu memorial S.N.D.P
yogam college of education conducted a working model workshop on 15th
June 2016. This workshop provided us a platform to display our skill in making science
related working models.
The workshop was held on all
of us reached at the general hall at 9.30am and the workshop begins on time.
The teacher gave as an elaborate instruction .Every one come with required materials.
Everyone enthusiastically participated in the workshop and made it a great
success.
I prepared a working model of
wind mill that shows how energy is generated from wind. The idea is to explain conversion of energy from one form to
another.
Materials
required
· Plastic fan
· LED’s
· Motor (6v or above)
· Resistor
· Connecting wire
· Cello tape
·
PVC
pipes
·
Pipe
connector
How
it works
When the wind passes through the blades, the blades
experience a lift due to the aerodynamic airfoil shape. Due to the lift
produced, the blades move and start rotating. The yaw unit aligns it towards
the incoming wind direction when the winds change. The rotation of the blades
is transmitted through the gear train and couplings to the generator that
generates electricity. The electricity is then transmitted through the wires to
the storage batteries or directly to the grid.
Here, simply rotate the fan at a very high speed to see if
the LED lights up.
